Snow, at LAST!!!!!!!!!
Hoorah! Great dollops of snow have finally landed here! Schools have shut, roads are icy and people who were meant to have the day off have had to go to work because other people can't make it in (I feel sorry for all those this happened to, but I'm also glad someone was there to make me a mocha)! I watched kids trudge to school, run back out of school, only to change their clothes and swarm back again because the best place for a snowball fight is, of course, the playground.
It's all so lovely and white, except for the roads which are brown and slushy. I've taken loads of photos, which will make great Christmas cards, if I remember I have them in eleven months' time. Also, I don't seem to notice the cold so much when it snows, so, all in all, I've had a thoroughly enjoyable day!
I have also done as the Romans did, according to a book I once had as a child, and stuck my feet in the snow. I don't actually have any chilblains this year, but better to be safe than sorry, eh? Strange as it seems, this cure has worked for me several times (when there has been snow, that is), as long as it is still snow, and not, in fact, ice, which actually makes chilblains worse.
I hope we get more snow tomorrow...:)
