Have Yourself A Dickensian Christmas!
I love Christmas. I love Charles Dickens, too. And he also loved Christmas - his literary descriptions of the season are among the most well-known and best-loved, and have quite possibly inspired a lot of our modern traditions.
And so, as a small offering to all who read this, I want to share with you Dicken's Christmas Stories, which he wrote to be read at this time of year, "to awaken some loving and forbearing thoughts, never out of season in a Christian land."
- A Christmas Carol, published in 1843
- The Chimes, published in 1844
- The Cricket on The Hearth, published in 1845
- The Battle of Life, published in 1846
- The Haunted Man and the Ghost's Bargain, published in 1848
Enjoy!
I'll be busy between now and Christmas Day, which means you're unlikely to hear from me again before then, so I'll take this opportunity to wish everyone: A Very Merry Christmas!
