Wednesday at Hartland
Jon and I had a really lovely day yesterday. We both had the day off, so we decided to head to the Hartland Peninsula. We had a fabulous lunch at the Hartland Quay Hotel, and admired the view of Lundy Island from there before the clouds covered it up. Jon decided he didn't fancy the Shipwreck museum just then, so we drove off to Hartland Point for a walk around the lighthouse, instead. We probably should have gone to the museum, though, as it bucketed down while we were there, and we both got drenched!!!
Once back in the car, we decided to go for a drive and try to dry off. We drove down beautiful woodland roads to Welcombe, but didn't stay as the weather wasn't much improved there. Instead, we drove back to Hartland and found Cheristow Lavender Tea Rooms. Jon had a cream tea and I ate a delicious chocolate and lavender cake. :)
And then, we finished the lovely day out with a short shopping trip at Atlantic Village. Well, we mostly bought lovely Whittard goodies. Yay! And then we came home, had a massage and watched the A-Team - wonderful!
And tonight, we're planning to have dinner at the Black Venus. :)
