Llove Llama!

Last weekend, Jon and I went to the Lynton & Lynmouth Music Festival. We had thought about camping, but left it too late and the camp site was fully booked. However, we still managed to get there for both Saturday and Sunday. :) And it was well worth the effort!!! :D

For those with access, photos will be online soon! I was hoping to just put up a couple, but there are so many good ones, it's proving tricky to choose which to show. I think it's going to take longer to sort out than I originally thought. The amazing thing is that this is a free festival - there's so much to enjoy and experience! Let me tell you what we got up to:

Jon and I drove down around 2 o'clock on Saturday, and found a place where we could park for free for two hours. In that time we listened to both Amy Newton and The Black Swan Effect. Amy, who has played at Llama twice before, was good - really full of energy! The Black Swan Effect are Reef drummer Dominic Greensmith's new band, and they were superb! Jon bought an EP from them, which we enjoyed listening to on the way home (and the way there on Sunday!).

We also nosed around the various stalls, where I bought a new scarf/shawl and 5 pairs of earrings, all of which came to just over £15! We also had some yummy burgers, admired the view (really, you have to see it for yourself!), picked up a festival programme and donated some spare change to keeping the festival free. Then we had to drive home because we had a barbecue party go to.

It was so fab that we had to return on Sunday. We went with Tomothy, but we left it rather late and worried that it would all be finished. I think we arrived about 5pm. Luckily for us, there was plenty going on! We heard both RSVP and First Degree Burns on the main stage, and Myoptik and Little Ray in the Twist and Spout tent!

The festival aside, we also found time for an excellent cream tea at Rock House and delicious fish and chips from the Esplanade Fish Bar & Restaurant. Plus, I saw some jackdaws and seagulls fighting over scraps of food, and Jon and Tomothy admired the tidal turbine.

Next year we're definitely camping. Hope to see you there!
