Open Your Eyes
I just looked up to see a jackdaw precariously balanced on our washing line, trying to peck at a suet ball that's dangling there. It was an incredible sight, as the bird wobbled and then opened one wing to try to keep its balance, and I would have missed it if I'd not happened to look up just at the right time. Snow Patrol's "Open Your Eyes" was playing, too, which really added to the moment, I feel. :)
What would you see if you took the time to open your eyes and look around you? It reminds me of a beautiful poem called "Leisure" by W.H. Davies. Read it, and don't forget to open your eyes!
