Bored with a Capital B!

I'm bored. The last two days have gone so slowly, and there's been nothing exciting to do. I don't mean to say I've been lazy, though. I've done quite a lot to try to get rid of the boredom, but it kept coming back. Bah.

Yesterday I went to Tesco to pick up a few things. This was pretty straightforward and, seeing as how I picked an opportune time of day, passed fairly quickly (I didn't even have to queue at the checkout!). I think I even managed to get everything on my list, which must be a first for me!

I also did all the washing up. This wasn't as much as it has been in the past, though. In fact, I've probably done as much again today (will explain why in a minute).

I've cleaned both bathrooms. I did this purely out of extreme boredom. The upstairs really needed doing, but the downstairs wasn't bad to begin with I guess. We've got some new flushable bathroom wipes from Method, so I tried those out. They're pretty good, and the bathrooms are both looking quite shiny now!

Yesterday I even measured our bedroom and the furniture in it, and planned out how to rearrange everything in there. Which means I've also spent the last two days trying to tidy the bedroom up so that I can actually lug the furniture about. This is going to take a while, however, because I'm a messy person, but I'm pretty impressed with the start I've made (let's just see if I can ever finish the job!).

In the evening, I watched Clueless, which I absolutely love. This even managed to lift my mood for a little while, too! :)

Another thing that cheered me up and took away the boredom for a while was helping out at a homeless drop-in this morning. Some of the guys who come along are really lovely, even if they do tease me a little. And it felt good to get out of the house, do something useful and be among other people for a bit. :)

After that, I went into town to buy a few bits of food from local suppliers. I like to support local business, plus I think it worked out cheaper than if I'd bought these items from Tesco. I had quite a jovial conversation at the fishmongers, too.

Since coming back home, I've done some washing, which is now hung out to dry. It looked a bit overcast as I was pegging it up, and I was worried it might start to rain, but it looks a little sunnier now.

I also made some more of my own cereal, as I'd nearly run out. Having given up chocolate for Lent, I'm unable to eat my usual Cocoa Crunch cereal and I wanted something with nuts and seeds in it, but without dried fruit (yuk!). I can't find any cereals like that in the shop, so I make my own version. This is usually a messy business (I can't help it!) but I do wash and clean up straightaway afterwards.

I reread The Diary of a Nobody in the last two days, mainly because I realised that, of all the fiction books I own and have read, this is the only one that I cannot remember anything about. Rereading it didn't refresh my memory, but I think that's because, while it is a funny book worth reading, nothing much really happens. I can't even think of what to say about it in a review; I liked it but I can't say why.

I think that's a fair description of what I've been up to these last two days. And I'm still really bored! Any suggestions for how I can shift this irksome feeling soon?
