Pegbag!
Yesterday I finished making the pegbag a friend of mine asked me to make back in September. I only started it on Saturday, so it's pretty good going, really. And it looks so cool, I want one now!
I made up the pattern as I went along, really, keeping it very simple. I used two yarns, one a mixture of blues and the other v soft turquoise. I started with the first one, made a chain as long as I thought about right, and then just made several rows of double crochet stitches (single crochet if you're American), until I had an approximate square. Then I cut off the first yarn and attached the second yarn. This I used for four rows of more double crochet (this made the bottom of the bag) and then cut off, reattaching the first yarn. Then I continued the rows until I'd made as many as before and cut the yarn. The last bit was to use the second wool to make the sides and handles - the sides were four double crochet stitches wide and the handles were two. I would share a photo but I haven't taken any and my cameras need charging. So you'll have to imagine it.
I'm thinking of making myself a purple one (what other colour would it be?) with soft white handle, sides and bottom, and adding a few extra touches to make it more of a handbag perhaps. We'll see what happens. If I do make it, I'll share a photo of that one, so you can see how totally amazing I am. ;)
Now I'd better get on with that to-do list of mine. It doesn't seem to be capable of sorting itself out, for some strange reason, so I guess I'd better intervene and see what needs doing.
Have some festive fun, folks!
