Wogan Woes
Terry Wogan has left Eurovision! The Eurovision Song Contest will never be the same without him! :(
Last May, as some of you may recall, Jon and I watched Eurovision from the official Website, which did not provide us with Wogan's wonderfully witty commentary. And the show certainly lacked its sparkle without him. I really regret not listening to Terry's last commentary now!
Terry Wogan has been commentating on Eurovision since 1971. Obviously, I've not been listening for that long, but I've been a fan for as long as I can remember, and my enjoyment of the event is all down to him. Over the years, his words have brought me a great deal of smiles and laughter as he described the zany goings-on with his tongue firmly in his cheek and accurately predicted how each country would vote. Ever since I've had this Website, I've blogged each year about Eurovision, and every single blog post about the contest mentions Terry, often including quotes from his excellent commentary.
Oh, and he's so great, I even made the following:

We love Wogan!
Why is he stepping down from Eurovision? These are his words. I'm sure there's a bit more to the story than he says, but Terry Wogan is a true gent, and, at 70 years of age (his date of birth is 3rd August, 1938), he's entitled to retire if he wishes to. He will be sadly missed at next year's Eurovision Song Contest.
Not that I'm likely to be watching. As I learnt last year, it's just not the same without Terry's commentary. Plus, I'm not a fan of Graham Norton, so I can't really see how he'll manage to compare to the legendary Wogan. Which makes this a very sad day for me.
It feels like the magic's gone out of Eurovision now. :(
