Resolutions, Update 5
I've done fairly well this month, but not as well as I'd hoped. It looks like I won't fulfil some of my resolutions. :( But these resolutions have helped me to focus some of my efforts a little better, which is useful, so I'm pleased with my progress, nonetheless.
- Get out and do more in our local area:
We enjoyed a walk around our local vicinity and a visit to the pub for Jon's birthday, as well as a trip through Dartmoor. And we saw Feeder in Exeter!! Not exactly local, but it's still Devon, so it counts.
- Edit MM1 and write the first draft of MM3 (the second in the series):
I've slowly returned to this, but not done a lot of editing so far. It looks like I've failed to finish editing MM1 this year, but at least this resolution has helped me to get clear in my mind what I want to do with this novel. Next year I'll have to really focus on getting this series smooth and spangly.
- Finish the two crochet items I started last year:
I said last month that, to get back into crochet, I'd make myself gloves this month, and I did! I really thought I'd failed this, but in the last week I found the motivation and time, and I'm really pleased with the result. Next month, I'm going to try to make a present and start on one of the unfinished projects. Maybe next year I'll finally complete these two items!
- Experiment in the kitchen:
I made toadlets, teriyaki chicken and spicy apple cake for Jon's birthday. And I experimented with a chocolate fairy cakes recipe of my own invention, which was well-received! So, yay!
- Come up with an outline for a series of children's stories:
I've not done a lot, but I have bought a couple of books about writing cover letters and such, to help me prepare for the agent hunt next year. I've already read one of the books, too! I know my series outline, but I've yet to sort out the stories I already have and work on new ones.
Not sure what time I'll have for any of this in December, but we'll see...
