Bible Studying
Whoops! I meant to blog last night, but I had a busy evening, both on- and offline. First, I went to my church house group, which was nice as it was the first one since the beginning of summer. It was more of a general catch-up than a Bible study, but it was nice to share news and pray for one another.
And afterwards I went to an online Bible study at St Pixels, which was really eye-opening! And fun! We covered verses 13-26 of Matthew 5 (part of the Sermon on the Mount). I find this passage can be difficult to understand, but last night it became a lot clearer, simply by discussing it in small sections with those at the Bible study.
The two most important things I took away from the study session (not things I learnt, but that really hit me at the time) were:
1) Being a righteous person isn't about what you've done in the past, but about what you're doing now and will do in the future.
2) Jesus is Love, and everything He taught us was based on Love.
I feel really inspired now, and I hope that my actions can reflect that Love all day, every day. I know that may prove a difficult aspiration, but it's worth aiming for!
Love, Peace & Grace to all of yas!
