Resolutions, Update 2

During the month of August, the following progress was made:

  1. Get out and do more in our local area:

We spent a lot of the time out of our local area visiting friends and family during the summer, but we also had family visit us, during which time we explored our local area. Places we enjoyed included the Burton Art Gallery, Atlantic Village, Barnstaple town centre, Westward Ho!, and Arlington Court. We also made it to the Headline Concert of the Bideford Folk Festival, where we finally got to see Isambarde live! And we've been planning to book tickets for a couple of gigs in Bristol (not exactly local, but we have friends in the area and it's not too far, so I think it counts).

  2. Edit MM1 and write the first draft of MM3 (the second in the series):

I've written the first draft of MM3!!!! It is complete! Woo! :D:D:D Now I've just got to get on with editing MM1 then.

  3. Finish the two crochet items I started last year:

Still finding it difficult to get into this one, and found little time to work on it during August. I've got a small project that I hope to work on in September and thus get back into the habit, and then I hope to work on these two items.

  4. Experiment in the kitchen:

Not as successful as July was, seeing as we've been away a great deal, but we're learning to experiment when we go out to eat, and this is inspiring us at home, too. I have tried monkfish, which was a success we're keen to build on by varying the recipe, so that's one of the things we'll be eating a fair bit of in September, I guess!

  5. Come up with an outline for a series of children's stories:

I guess my ideas are still slowly formulating. I have, during a recent tidy up, been finding some of my old children's stories, which I can either incorporate into this series or use as inspiration. So, I guess I ought to look over these old stories properly and start getting ideas down on paper.

Not bad, but I do need to work on resolutions 3 and 5 in September, I suppose. Still, I'm pleased with my progress, and I've had a lovely, if occasionally rather hectic, time during August!
