London Day Out In Brief

Earlier this month, Jon and I went to London. There were a number of things we planned to see, and while we didn't quite have enough time to fit everything in, we were busy enough that it will probably take me a few blog posts to describe it all.

In brief: we went to the Docklands to see the Jack the Ripper exhibition at the Museum in Docklands. It rained heavily when we got out at Canary Wharf tube station, so it took us a while to get from there to West India Quay, where the museum is. Since we arrived about 1:40pm, we decided to have lunch before going in, because there was a large row of restaurants next to the Museum, all with terrace seating near the docks. We chose to eat at a place that did tapas at really reasonable prices. The menu said "Via" and having looked it up online, it appears that it was a place called Via Fossa but it doesn't seem to have its own Website. Anyhoo, the food was fab, and then we went to the exhibition and spent two hours there having a fascinating time. After that, we went via the tube to the Tate Modern to look at the graffiti on the outside of the building, which was amazing to behold. Then we saw more graffiti at Leake Street tunnel. Then we were hungry, and decided to go have food at the Diner. Then we were tired and decided to go home.

All are highly recommended!

In other news, the novel is currently 67,465 words long, and showing no sign of ending before it hits 74k, at least. :S Do I have enough time to write another seven thousand words? Um, no. Meep!
