Cooking Creations!
You may remember that last month I came up with some Mid-Year Resolutions, and I also said that I'd blog each month about my progress. Well, there's not been a great deal of progress on the whole, so that update can wait for a couple of days, but I do want to tell you about how I'm doing with one of those resolutions: Experiment in the kitchen.
This so far is the most successful of my resolutions. I'm not sure why I've been able to find more time for this resolution and not the others, but I guess it's a combination of factors. For a start, I've acquired a few new cookbooks, which have been great inspiration. Jon's been busy, so I've been trying to help by cooking dinner more often and finding new recipes to vary our diets a bit. There were also recently one or two events for which I wanted to make something a little bit different.
My latest cooking creations have thus far been:
- two chocolate truffle cakes (because the first one was SO good!);
- egg and pepper rolls;
- cheese and eggs in ham;
- plaice in cream sauce;
- a yucky strawberry scrunch breakfast thing;
- an oat and seed breakfast cereal;
- an oat and seed cereal bar coated in chocolate.
Haven't I been busy? If anyone's interested in any of the above, let me know and I'll think about sharing the recipes. :) Now, I wonder what to try next month? Perhaps monkfish kebabs with roasted peppers...
Happy cooking!
