Apr Books 2008
Woo! I set myself the challenge of reading at least five books this month to improve my monthly reading average, and I read six! Yay! And no cheating by reading lots of thin books, either! I done good!
The six books were:
- Incident Into Evidence - Operational Police Skills (it's for research)
- Imagination and Play in the Electronic Age (research again, plus a fascinating read)
- One Fine Day In The Middle Of The Night (I love Christopher Brookmyre)
- Dartmoor Legends Retold (this one was quite short, I admit)
- David Copperfield (I finally finished it! I love Dickens!)
- The Shakespeare Secret (a surprisingly good book, if somewhat predictable)
I might write one or two proper reviews sometime soon, but let me just say that I can recommend all the above, except for Dartmoor Legends Retold, which I found disappointing. My total books read this year so far is now 19, which puts me two books ahead of the "book a week" average I had previously been keeping to. Admittedly, two of the books above were books I'd previously read (can you guess which ones?), so I'm averaging one new book a week, which is pretty good, methinks!
Let's see how well I do in May. I've a pile of books on the kitchen table that I need to get through, so there's plenty for me to be getting on with!
Bye4now!
