Showing You The Doormat
Here's that crochet post I've been promising! This is what I've made my grandparents for Christmas:
I made it with green garden twine/jute/whatever it's called and got a blister on my finger as a result! That stuff is quite stiff, and not the easiest material to crochet with! Which is a problem because Jon wants me to make us one now. :S The flowers are made of coloured plastic twine, and were easier to make than the mat, lol! I then sewed them on with more twine, and voila! I've still got to nail varnish all the ends (to stop it unravelling) and tidy them away, but that's an easy job that won't take long.
I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out, and I hope they will be, too, when they open it at midnight on Christmas Day. Or maybe I'll make them wait until they come round for Christmas lunch. ;)
