A Weekend In York & Other Stories

The reason it's been quiet so far this month is that we were in Leeds and York at the weekend, meeting up with our wonderful friends who live up there. We even managed to visit our fave café and our fave restaurant. :D

While in York, we also walked along the walls, visited some touristy places (although we have yet to go on the wheel) and visited some of the cats dotted around the city. Our visit was way too brief, however, so we'll definitely be back soon! Beware! :P

Maybe once I've done the blog posts about places to visit in Devon, I'll write a few about places to visit up there, too. That ought to keep me busy. Mind you, it's September now, and that means I'm having to start thinking about Christmas...

I jest not! Those who know me know that I like to make my own cards and some of you have been lucky(?) enough to receive handmade presents in previous years, too. These things need time, so I really ought to start planning this month.

Ok, ok, I admit, I just like to get all the Christmas preparations out of the way asap so I can enjoy the festive season when it arrives. And I also admit that I have already started. I bought presents for this Christmas before last Christmas. I know, I know, but if I see something that I think someone I know will love, then, if I can afford to, I buy it. I already have a card for when my brother turns thirty, and that's still years away!

Anyway... so, there's lots to organise and do this month, but it all ought to be good fun, right? Planning, shopping, cardmaking, crochet, other handicrafts, reading, blogging, maybe some writing... oh, and housework and work work, of course. Yeah, that sounds manageable, doesn't it?

Oh, and in other news, I'm thinking of learning PHP - does anyone know any useful sites for an absolute beginner?
