Creative July!
This has been a very good month! I feel I have been really productive, and I've enjoyed myself, too. :) My Dickens marathon is back in full flow, at last, and I've even found time for my own writing! Yay!
I found that the novel that I want to work on was pretty much finished - only the last scene was incomplete. How could I leave it to gather dust for years when the first draft was so nearly done??? Anyway, I finished it off, and am now going back over it bumping up the word count and smoothing things up. The first draft is 29,380 words long, and already I've rewritten the first chapter, bumping that total up to 31,087 words! Pretty good going, methinks!
Today, I also finished one of my crochet projects. This one is a present, but I doubt the person will visit my site, and I really want to show you peeps what I've made, so here it is!

And, so you can see the face a little clearer:

So, what do you think? It's to hold a mobile phone, and has a key chain so it can be worn on jeans or secured in a bigger bag so that the phone is easy to grab when needed. The shoulder strap has five flowers on, which can be moved about. I adapted it from a pattern for iPod coevers I have in this book (well, I got rather confused, so I simply made the pouch part with double crochet stitches, used the bits of the pattern that explained how to make it look like a kitty and to make the flowers, and then made up the bits for the sides and strap). Et voila!
Last night I also had an idea about crocheting another present for someone else. This would be a little more ambitious, though, so we'll see how it goes. First I'd like to finish off the crochet project I'm currently working on for me. The problem is, I keep thinking of other things I could try crocheting, lol!
And now, time for bed!
