A Trip Down Nostalgia Lane
Today, at work, I was shown a fabulous Website - http://www.toonhound.com/. This lists numerous cartoons that I used to watch as a child, and has made me go all nostalgic.
Do you know that you can watch the opening themes (and maybe more) of loads of shows like Bertha and The Flumps on YouTube? Guess what I've been doing for most of the day...:D
This has inspired me to do two things since getting back home. The first thing was to dig out my old list of children's shows I want on DVD. I am going to type this up onto my laptop in a spreadsheet, add to it, and find out which ones are currently available. Gradually, my empire shall grow...
The second thing was to make the following quiz. If you fancy some fun, have a go and email me your answers. Here's the qs:
- Who was the voice of Bagpuss?
- Where does Mr Macadoo live?
- Complete the following theme song: "My name's James, James the cat. I've had fame, money, and all that! Now I'm here..." (one and a half lines missing)
- In which cartoon series was there a character called Grandfather Diplodocus?
- What was the name of Jamie's dog in James & The Magic Torch?
- What is Evil Edna?
- What show had a character called T.O.M.?
- How long does each episode of Trapdoor last?
- What was the name of the yellow Telebug?
- Which cartoon did the Goodies do the voices for?
- Who voices Ermintrude the cow in the 2005 film version of The Magic Roundabout?
- How many episodes of The Shoe People were made?
- With which TV presenter (and artist) is Morph associated with?
- Who narrated the cartoon Stoppit and Tidyup?
- What is Orm?
I may at some point post what all the answers are, if enough people are interested. :) Or I may just leave you all desperately searching the 'Net forever...:P
