A Novel Idea
I may have come up with a new novel idea. I'm not sure when I'll get to write it, if ever, but it's been bubbling away in my head for most of the day and I've just spent about an hour making notes on the main characters in a previously-empty notebook. I'm buzzing to start writing it right now, but I think I need to make some more notes first, and besides, I'm busy tonight. I'm also busy tomorrow and this weekend. Bah!
Anyway, I thought I'd whet your appetites a little and tell you about the idea. It should be a romantic comedy, I think, and I hope to make the ending something of a surprise. I guess it reminds me a bit of There's Something About Mary but without the crude/politically incorrect humour. I'm hoping once it's written no one makes such a comparison - I want to be original, dammit! ;)
What else can I tell you? Well, at the moment, there is only one woman in the story, and several men, but that may change once I've thought the plot through a bit more. I don't think there'll be any more main characters, though, because there are currently five. Last snippet of info: it's probably going to be based in Devon.
I was hoping my second novel this year would be one of my unfinished ones, but if this one goes well, that plan is out of the window. Unless I write three novels this year? Hmm, do I have time to do that???
