Rocking in HarperSpace
Jon took me to a Nick Harper gig last night. I admit, I was slightly worried, as Nick Harper is one of Jon's guitar heroes, and I thought Jon would embarrass me, but he behaved... for the most part.
Nick Harper was amazing. I have never seen someone fiddle with the tuning knobs in the middle of his songs before, and, having had some disastrous experience of meddling with my violin tuning knobs in the past, I was very impressed. He also performed many other crazy guitar-playing feats, and was clearly enjoying himself. Apparently, Jon says one of his party pieces is to break a string and continue the song, restringing the guitar as he does, in less than a minute. Sadly, he didn't perform this feat last night.
Anyway, it was a fab gig, and you should all listen to Nick Harper's music, so check out the above link!
In other news, there are three people sat in parked cars outside our house, presumably waiting for their children to come out of school in half an hour's time. One of them even had their engine running, but I think they've turned it off now. I also think I just heard a fourth car arrive to wait. It's sunny outside! Who wants to sit in a car for half an hour in weather like this??? People is crazy, I tell you!
I feel like pointing and laughing. And taking photos. Must resist, though, as that's just plain weird. ;)
Bye4now!
