Overtaking Myself
Word Count from yesterday:
My rewrite has now got more words than the original draft, and I think I'm around halfway!
I say "think" because I don't know for sure until I'm finished where the actual halfway point is. However, my estimation is that the halfway point comes at the beginning of the chapter where the third murder occurs. I only have one more chapter to write before I reach that point! I plan to write it today! Which means I'll have reached the hypothetical halfway point in just 10 days! This feels incredible!
Now that things are in full flow, my only concern is that I will have to make sure that I don't speed through the rest of the story in a blur. There is plenty enough to happen for this story to reach 70k, but it is usually about this point in a novel where my fingers start to rush ahead of my brain. I'm going to need to take it slowly and see how things go... but I'm confident at this stage that I'll have a decent length of a well-crafted novel once I'm finished!
