A Lovely Weekend... & Chocolate!
How was your weekend? I had a lovely time showing my parents around North Devon & Exmoor.
They arrived late Saturday morning and we fed them a brunch of locally-bought sausages, burgers and bacon. Oh, and a few bits of fruit and veg, too. It was scrummy!
Then we spent the day exploring. We had icecreams at the beach, and easily walked off all the calories we had thus far gained that day. We also walked into town later that evening for a meal at a local Chinese restaurant, which was pleasant.
On Sunday I took Mum and Dad to church and afterwards Jon joined us for a lovely lunch at a local pub. Then we hurried off to the Exmoor Food Fayre in Porlock. We arrived later than intended, thanks to numerous drivers who dawdled along not concentrating on their driving (if you want to admire the view, stop in one of the many appropriate car parks or laybys that are available for that purpose - don't cause a mile-long tailback!).
At the Food Fayre, we sampled the wares of a few stalls, and were particularly impressed by Nutcombe Chocolates. Their chocolate was very yummy! Jon and I intend to either (a) visit one the shops that stock their chocolate very soon, or (b) catch them at another food/Christmas market to stock up!
Then we did some more exploring in Somerset, after which my parents left. Jon and I returned home, very tired. I just wish they could have stayed a little longer!

Having mentioned Nutcombe Chocolates, above, I think this is an appropriate place for me to make mention of my favourite Yorkshire chocolate-makers: Monkbar Chocolatiers. Jon and I miss living round the corner from their shops - their chocolate is fantastic!!!
