5,001: A Novel Odyssey
I currently have 5,001 words of potential novel. This is cool! :D However, I started writing it sometime last month, so it's not that great a word count.
The thing is, I'm not really writing it very regularly, but when I do, it flows semi-well. For instance, today I must have written about 2,000 words. Which is probably about equal to the amount I wrote on Friday.
So, if I'm writing it at a rate of 2,000 words every four days, it's probably going to take me 120 days to write a 60,000 words novel. If it even reaches that kind of length!
Personally, I'd rather finish it before Christmas, but I just don't seem to find the time for it. I mean, I planned to spend all afternoon on Saturday writing it, and failed to add a single word. By the evening I was all for giving up entirely, but then, as I said in a previous post, during the night sometime all sorts of ideas came to my head (which have all disappeared now).
I'm also trying to edit the other novel I wrote during summer. Bah. I have too many ideas, that's my problem. I need to focus on one at a time and try to get it published, but the voices in my head won't let me.
We'll see how it goes...
