Little Niggles
My glasses broke an hour before my interview on Thursday. Not seriously, I can still wear them, but a bit is missing, so I really ought to see my optician this summer. I wore contacts to the interview, which was ok, but I always forget I'm wearing contacts. Well, I forget I'm wearing glasses usually as they are so light, but at least if I get in bed I usually notice and take them off. It's not that easy with contacts.
No, I didn't sleep with them still in. :P
Do you know when you dread the idea of something happening while you're in a certain place? Like, maybe, getting a verucca at the public swimming pool, or bumping into someone you don't get on with at a place they usually frequent, or getting mugged while walking through a notorious neighbourhood. This sort of thing. Well, while I worked at the school, I had a similar fear. I won't say what, but just suffice, it was likely to happen and I have personal reasons for not wanting it to.
It didn't happen while I was at school. It did, however, happen a week AFTER I left. And I have had to put up with it until this weekend. Grrr... At least it is sorted now (I hope).
I know this post sounds rather ranty, but, actually, I am quite happy. Things are ok. It's so nice here, how can I not be happy? Plus, I baked a chocolate cake (for someone's birthday) and we're going to try a recipe with pears today. So, yay!
