Tina Turner & Odd Socks
The first song we sang in church today was "Simply The Best" - slightly surreal, but fun. The sermon involved two young people being blindfolded and sorting odd socks. It was about Vision and motivation, and was quite good, but I won't explain any further. I just wanted to give you the image of two young people sat on a church floor, blindfolded and sorting socks.
What is your vision? What drives you? That's something I've been thinking about of late. Term started on Tuesday, and things were hectic. I was able to do my job better, however, once I was able to understand all of the tasks, and the person making the requests. In fact, I really enjoyed the challenges of last week!
I think confusion caused by lack of communication can be a big problem - it is probably my largest cause of stress - and it is needless. It really doesn't take long to explain what you want in enough detail for the other person to understand. If two people are working with the same vision, things get done quicker and better than if only one of them knows what the plan is.
Anyway, my current vision is of a mostly-deserted, sun-kissed beach. That's where I plan to be, either later today or tomorrow. Hooray for bank holidays!!
