Halfway to Fifty!
Yesterday was Bonfire Night. It was also Jon's 25th birthday!!!

I baked him two cakes (although one didn't turn out quite right, but still tastes yummy), one choccy and one spicy apple, and some sesame triangle biscuits. Mrs Adams, next door, also baked him a lovely choccy cake, on which I put candles. :)

His pressies included Darth Tater (thanks Mikey & Roo!), The Meaning of Liff (thanks Ro!) and Marvin the Paranoid Android (from me), as well as money towards the digital camera he's had his eye on for ages. Expect his Flickr account to start filling up when he gets that!

We went to lunch with his Dad in Torrington, and in the evening we went to a bonfire bonanza at Chivenor. I think it was possibly the only place where the (100ft long) Houses of Parliament went up in smoke while Guy Fawkes (40ft tall) survived! Well, he looked fine when we left, anyway. The fireworks were great and we enjoyed ourselves immensely!

Just think, Bonfire Night has been celebrated for 400 years! Wow! Poor old Guy Fawkes, I wonder how many effigies have been burnt in that time? St Peter's School's most famous ex-pupil will truly never be forgot!
If anyone caught the spectacular display in York, let us know what it was like. Pix would be ace. Ta!
