My Last Evensong at the Minster
What a beautiful service. I will really miss the Minster. I nearly didn't go today, as we're not quite finished packing yet, but I'm glad I did. David Howard was in the choir today! :D
The anthem was "Wo ist ein so herrlich Volk" by Brahms, and the organ voluntary was "Aphorismus" by Karg-Elert. The sermon was titled: "Using the Bible: How Christian is the Old Testament" and the preacher was the Revd Canon Glyn Webster.
I'm glad I went when I did, it meant I got a nice seat. People around me left quietly afterwards, so I was able to really enjoy the voluntary.
I would say more, but I have to get back to packing. Jon has flat-packed most of the furniture and it's really creepy around here...
