My Last Creative, Ink!
They brought chocolate cake and a card, and they wrote us poems! I am sooo going to miss them all!!! They are all really lovely people and I hope the group continues to go from strength to strength. Hopefully I'll get to come back every now and then (but sadly not as often as I'd like).
However, I doubt I'll be setting up a new group in Devon - it's a lot of hard work! I think I'll concentrate on finding a fab job, instead. And possibly NaNoWriMo.
Anyway, here's the poem I wrote, not very good, but written in 5/10 mins. There was a lot more I wanted to say, but the shorter the better when it comes to goodbyes, I think...
Goodbye to York
Six years later,
The city still feels new...
Familiar, but with secrets,
So much to see and do.
But so much will be left undone,
For time is running out;
Leaving for new pastures,
Can't afford to hang about.
So many friends to leave behind -
We must all keep in touch!
I never really realised,
How I love this place so much.
But no more time for stalling,
Not even time to sigh,
We're moving to a brand new life -
To all in York, I say goodbye.
