Spread The Word
I've just uploaded the reorganised Links Section, which I forgot to do when I was updating the rest of the site. Most of it is still the same, but there are a few new links, and one major restructuring.
I've added links to Johanna's website (she is a fabulous photographer, so go check it out NOW!), and also to I Harth Darth, where you'll find some fantastic silly cartoons based upon Star Wars. Definitely check both of these out! Also, there's a new link to the The Internet Movie DataBase - this is a website I use a LOT.
Ok, onto the Major Restructuring stuff. I found that the "Other Links" page was getting crowded with all sorts of links that had nothing to do with one another. So I have separated it out into "Entertainment Links" for silly/fun/stuff to do links, "Research Links" for links to stuff that may know the answer to your questions, and "Spread the Word" for links to places that I really think more people should know about.
"Spread the Word" is for charity and religious links, mainly, but I really feel it is important that people know about these things. This is why I'm now going to explain a little about the links currently on that page.
Gear That Gives is a charity shopping site. If you buy things from here, you can help a wide range of charities. So go there, now. If you want to buy me a present (well, I can dream, right?), getting me something from this site would make me happy, whether I like the gift or not. ;)
Church of Fools is an online Church community. If you want to find out more about religion, or want somewhere to discuss your beliefs, this is a great place to do so. It's a shame that the 3D Church is only open for "individual visits", as I used to find this part of the site truly inspirational when lots of people were around.
Yes 2 Wind is a site all about Wind Power. This is an important issue that we really need to be supporting now, so I urge all of you to go here, find out the facts, and do what you can to support this cause. I know, I said ages ago I was going to blog about this in more detail, and I do hope to do so at some point this year. But for now, find out more through the link above.
Greenpeace needs no introduction, I'm sure. I started supporting Greenpeace at university when a campaigner approached me in the street and spoke so vividly that I could really imagine the North Sea with great clarity. Not all charity people on the streets are rude and/or overly persistent. If you have the time, give them a chance, ok? Anyway, I haven't been able to regularly donate to them for a few months now, due to my financial situ, but as soon as I can, I will. Because the Earth is too precious to waste.
Well, that's my little speech over. Please, if you've read this far, do follow the above links and just take some time to find out for yourself whether you want to help/get involved. If we all do a little, we can really make a difference.
