And so the the story begins...

"He lives in a house, a very big house in the country..."

Or we will, at any rate, sort of. North Devon is very rural!

Yup, that's right. Time for the big announcement of what's been on my mind for a loooong time now. Jon and I have been to Devon and made a few decisions. We also did a LOT of weeding and I have the scratches to prove it.

By November, we will be living in Jon's house in Devon. Hopefully two months is plenty of time to move stuff slowly down that way, although I have no idea how the furniture will make its way down there. People tend to get a little worried if such things sprout wings and fly, so that's no good...

I'll miss York, but I really feel that, after six years here, it is time for me to move on. There are exciting new challenges in Devon that I wish to undertake. And it is about an hour's drive closer to home. This is something I'm really looking forward to, and hopefully everything will go well!

Thanks to all those who sent me encouraging emails when I was filling in job application forms and sending speculative CVs. I hate doing that sort of thing, but your kind words really helped to spur me on. We'll see what good comes of it.

As it is, I have already heard from one place that I sent a speculative CV to. They said there was a position available so I filled their form in and personally handed it in while down. Their letter sounded promising, so hopefully I'll hear about an interview soon.

I am hoping and hoping and hoping that I get that job - it would be ace. It's really cool, with lots history and such. And I'd have time for my writing, and plenty of inspiration, too!

What else do I have to say? Not a lot, really. Except that the wedding was lovely, Ro's party was fun, and, back at home, Dad cut through the NTL cable with an axe.

Tra-la-la!
